There's nothing quite like Opening Day
No matter how old I get or how many Opening Days I experience — Monday was No. 14 — they never are old. Statistics are a big part of baseball, and when the numbers begin to count, they enhance the joy of the game.
Not much is expected from the Cardinals this season. Many believe they will be a mediocre team, capable of no better than third place. It’s still too early to get a feel for how the club will perform, but it does appear evident that it has less margin for error than in past seasons.
That being said, the games have to be played. There will be some surprises, good and bad, along the way that will contribute to where the Cardinals stack up in the National League Central.
With this blog, I hope to report on the goings-on from behind the scenes, hopefully providing a unique look at many things fans can’t see.
With that, the tarp is coming off the field and there is still hope that the rain will stay away long enough for the Cardinals and Colorado to begin Chapter 1 of 162.
